Michael Hopps is a Senior Vice President on R4 Capital Funding’s tax-exempt originations team. Since joining R4 Capital Funding in 2017, Mike has worked on the origination and execution of over $1.5 billion in private placement tax-exempt and taxable mortgage debt for 4% tax credit transactions, representing more than 8,000 units across 17 states.

In his current capacity at R4CF, Mike specializes in the origination, structuring, and public sector coordination required to create and preserve affordable rental housing, with a primary focus on the Southwest and Southeast United States. Previously, he worked as a public accountant for a regional Tampa-based accounting firm, focusing on corporate and individual tax matters. 

Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The University of South Florida.
