Maria Gomez is an Executive Vice President and Controller of R4 Capital based in the firm’s New York office Maria is responsible for handling all aspects of GAAP reporting for R4 Capital’s $6.4 billion LIHTC equity portfolio. She has more than 25 years’ experience in affordable housing and LIHTC funds.  Maria has worked in senior level accounting positions with R4’s CFO, Glenn Hopps, for over 20 years.

Prior to joining R4 Capital in 2014, Maria served as Vice President and Assistant Controller at Centerline Capital Group. While there, she was responsible for quarterly and annual financial reporting for more than $10 billion of LIHTC investor equity in a portfolio of more than 1,400 housing properties nationwide. Maria began her career as an accountant for a well-established company in the garment industry, later transitioning to commercial real estate accounting. 

Maria holds a BS in Accounting from Queens College, City University of New York.
