Ethan Block is a Vice President of R4 Capital based in the firm’s Austin, Texas office. Ethan has nearly two decades of comprehensive construction risk assessment experience with several years specific to affordable housing. As part of Construction Risk Management, he works with Acquisition and Asset Management teams to evaluate and provide guidance on construction-related issues.

Prior to joining R4 Capital, Ethan was the Director of Technical Due Diligence at JHME in Plano, Texas. There he capitalized on his 16 years of experience in engineering, architectural, and environmental consulting to review and manage Plan and Cost Reviews, Construction Monitoring, Property Condition Assessments, and Environmental projects. Ethan managed client relationships and oversaw a national network of consultants employed to provide specialized expertise on physical assessments and reviews. His responsibilities before joining included architectural cost analysis, construction and replacement cost evaluation, hazardous materials testing, and subsurface investigations for nationwide and regional engineering consultants.

Ethan earned an MS in Environmental Studies from University of Texas – Arlington and a BS in Environmental Studies from University of Kansas.
