Brian McMahon is an Executive Vice President of R4 Capital based in the firm’s Newport Beach office. Since moving to the West Coast in 2013, Brian has originated over $900 million in equity investments, facilitating the construction of over 2,500 units and the rehab of over 5,600 units of quality affordable housing.

Brian joined R4 Capital from Credit Suisse, where he helped build a CMBS securitization platform from the ground up and led the development of its proprietary underwriting model. Prior to that, Brian was a Vice President at a start-up firm advising clients on CRE and CMBS investments, where he served as project manager on commercial mortgage underwritings with a face value of over $1.2 billion. Brian started his real estate career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 2004, executing CMBS and real estate CDO securitizations. He joined Goldman in 1998, serving in a variety of roles related to financial reporting and expense control.

Brian holds an MA and a BA from the University of Virginia.
