R4 CAPITAL HIRES VETERAN ORIGINATOR TO OPEN AUSTIN, TEXAS OFFICE

K. Nicole Flores joins R4 Capital to lead the firm’s fourth national acquisitions team

New York, NY — February 24, 2016 —R4 Capital, a national affordable housing tax-credit syndicator and asset manager, announced today that K. Nicole Flores has joined the firm as Executive Vice President. Ms. Flores has held senior management positions throughout her 25-year career in the affordable housing industry during which she has financed over $1 billion in LIHTC transactions. Most recently, Ms. Flores originated investment opportunities across a 13-state region in the southwestern United States for a top competitor.

Ms. Flores will open and run R4 Capital’s Austin office, expanding the firm’s national presence to four office locations, including New York City, Boston, and Newport Beach, CA.

At R4 Capital, Ms. Flores will be responsible for building and managing a new acquisitions team focused on the southwest and mountain states, including Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, among others. Ms. Flores’s wealth of LIHTC experience ranges from development, financing, construction oversight, and originations, to property and asset management. Her long-term industry relationships throughout the country will enable her to immediately enhance R4 Capital’s access to quality developments and increase its national coverage. Ms. Flores’s new team will be R4 Capital’s fourth acquisitions team, joining Ronne Thielen in Newport Beach, Jay Segel in Boston, and Paul Connolly in New York.

Ms. Flores acknowledged her mutual admiration for all that R4 Capital has accomplished since 2011 when it was founded. “I am equally pleased and excited to join such a reputable organization. I have crossed paths with Marc and previously worked on financing transactions with some of his colleagues at R4 over the last 20 years in our industry and am thrilled to now be part of the team,” she added.

Ms. Flores began her career in public sector housing and homeless programs, where she honed her skills navigating government rules and regulations to obtain funding and achieve desired outcomes. She maintains a commitment to provide decent and affordable housing and currently serves on the boards of Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation and the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers.
